now operating in San Francisco and Los Angeles

Music enthusiasts turned professional mobile DJs, we at heart of gold put our vast musical knowledge to work for you spinning all your favorite dance floor gems with none of the cheesy gimmicks.

As DJs we provide each event with a unique mix of cocktail, dinner, and dance floor hits you love, keeping your most music savvy-friends impressed - and grandma on the dance floor - all while avoiding silly props, line dances, unnecessary MC chatter, and tacky lighting. With so many of your guests dancing, there won’t be room for that anyway!

And weddings? We love them.

Whether the event is formal, casual, cocktail, dinner, dancing, or any combination of, we work closely with every one of our clients to develop a playlist perfectly suited for the evening. In addition to musical knowledge we’ve got mad MCing skills, will work with all your other vendors to keep your event running smoothly, can mic anything you throw at us, and are happy to facilitate your family traditions. We’ll even provide music for and mic your ceremony.

DJ Allison Peck California native Allison Peck grew up in Thousand Oaks, CA and spent much of her teenage years going to shows at the Troubadour, Roxy and Cobalt Cafe. Allison enrolled in Cal Poly and moved to San Luis Obispo where she split her time between business school and DJing at KCPR (claim to fame: Weird Al Yankovich recorded 'My Bologna’ in the bathroom next to the station). After college Allison moved to Chicago where she began working as a wedding DJ, spinning everywhere from Wisconsin barns to fancy downtown hotels. Once ready to return to California, Allison put her business degree to use and co-founded Heart of Gold DJs.

DJ Erica Schwanke Ask Erica how she became a DJ and she’ll tell you that there really wasn’t any other way. Raised by two music-obsessed parents – her dad still hosts a community radio show – Erica has been a music enthusiast since childhood. Though she left her rural Minnesota roots behind for the music-rich cities of Minneapolis and Chicago, she took her passion with her: spinning vinyl in numerous bars, hosting radio shows, and packing dance floors all along the way. After years of hauling her gear through slush and snow, she said ‘see ya later’ to brutal Midwest winters and moved to sunny California where she co-founded Heart of Gold DJs.

DJ Maria Gajardo Born in Chile and raised in Palm Springs, Maria moved to the Bay at 22 to pursue a career in sculpture. An artist by trade, Maria prefers to compare building the perfect playlist to working with clay, layering the perfect mix of elements while experimenting with juxtaposing images (or in this case, sounds) to see which sequence elicits the response she's looking for. In the case of DJing, that response is a raging dance floor. Maria claims The Cure as her "first best friend" and counts a recent Solange concert as one of her favorite music experiences to date.

DJ Meghan Pennie Meghan’s musician parents met while working in a record store so it’s no surprise that she has spent the last 10 years making music of her own. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she’s been involved in a number of music projects and now fronts the critically acclaimed band Super Unison. Often a front-woman, Meghan has also mastered the bass guitar as well the art of DJing. Though her music career has been marked by punk rock and mosh pits, Meghan finds the happy, relaxed vibe of weddings to suit her quite well and especially enjoys mixing different genres while DJing. She counts touring in Japan and seeing both Prince and Van Morrison perform as her top 3 music related memories.

DJ Ashleyanne Krigbaum It was in London eight years ago that Ashleyanne first found herself behind the turntables which is fitting given her penchant for collecting 60s soul and French Pop records. So much so that she’s NPR Music's resident expert on Northern Soul! Since then she’s been spinning all-vinyl for 60's soul dance parties around the Bay Area on the regular. When she's not DJing, Ashleyanne swaps out turntables for a soundboard in a radio studio working as a public radio producer, host, curator, and reporter, sound engineer and producer.

DJ Caity Watson Caity remembers her DJ gig vividly, recalling “I was just a music nerd wanting to join the ranks the coolest kids on the planet.” The gig went perfectly and she packed the dance floor. Her talent caught the bar owners attention and she was immediately offered a monthly gig. Since then, she’s been a regular in the San Francisco circuit spinning under the name DJ Paisley at Beauty Bar, Make Out Room, Elbo Room, and Thee Parkside. A 70s rock aficionado at heart, Caity says her favorite wedding moment was when she played Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah and the entire wedding erupted in a sing-a-long.
