Or perhaps it was when she bought her first ever record on Haight Street in 2005, without even owning a turn table at the time (it was The Beatles’ Abbey Road, by the way). Or possibly even earlier than that as a lifelong music enthusiast, growing up listening to her parents’ Joni Mitchell and Bob Marley records. The transition to professional DJ in 2016 marked the beginning of a new musical odyssey, steadily crafting a reputation and a career in the Bay Area.

Nearly 10 years later, she’s done 200+ weddings and 300+ other events, and worked with clients like PlayStation, Salesforce, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Girls on the Run, Friends of the SF Library, the de Young, SFMOMA, Benco Dental, Raw Garden, The Wing, Forrester, San Francisco Design Week, Avon, Timbuk2, Just Add Salt, Noise Pop, Old Navy, DoorDash, Codigo Tequila & Skrewball Whiskey, and Saint Joseph’s Art Foundation... just to name a few. Although the Bay is home, she’s also played to NYC, LA & Italy on several occasions. 

Cherry Pie previously hosted a radio show on KALX 90.7fm for 5 years, and a wrote & produced a music history podcast called Nightclubbing with Cherry Pie broadcasting on Lower Grand Radio in Oakland.

Cherry Pie thinks a good DJ is one that is well versed in the art of hosting. The ability to read the room and play to a wide audience is a skill she has acquired from being a professional, full-time DJ.

While she has an encyclopedic knowledge of different genres, she is always looking to learn more and improve in her craft. In her spare time, you can find her gliding around Golden Gate Park on roller skates to a soundtrack of 70s & 80s funk, disco and R&B, or in a dive bar in the Mission District sipping a negroni.
